On le retrouve \u00e9galement en Afrique du Sud, sur l\u2019\u00eele de la R\u00e9union, ou encore en Inde et en Australie.Cultiv\u00e9 principalement pour la production de ses fruits, le nopal est naturellement riche en vitamine C. Il sert \u00e9galement de colorant naturel. De plus,&nbsp;au Mexique, il&nbsp;est tr\u00e8s utilis\u00e9 dans la pratique traditionnelle o\u00f9 la feuille, r\u00e9duite en poudre, est utilis\u00e9e pour limiter l\u2019absorption des graisses.Le nopal est riche en fibres qui ont la capacit\u00e9 de se lier dans l\u2019estomac \u00e0 une partie des graisses alimentaires ing\u00e9r\u00e9es durant le repas, et ainsi de les capturer. L\u2019ensemble est ensuite \u00e9limin\u00e9 par les voies naturelles.
